It’s a wrap?

ApacheKat made a late night run to the kitty emergency room a few nights ago.  This is how she came home on Tuesday afternoon.  Pressure wrapped from her front legs to her back legs.   She was tired and hungry.  We got her fed, loved on and this is where she ended up.  On the bed sleeping on my sweater.  (Shame on me for not hanging it up!)DSCF9033

Ernie carried her to the vet yesterday to have the bandages removed.   The place that was the problem was healed.  Vet thought she might have nicked an artery in her chewing off the scab.  Great, huh?   Anyhow, when they undid the pressure wrap, they pulled off a few more scabs and pulled out clumps of fur where it had stuck…she was not a happy camper.  She looks so ratty and moth eaten now.  But…she’s walking good and eating like a piggy.  Guess there’s a trade off.  They gave her another brand new antibiotic that’s for skin infections and a steroid injection.  I’m still giving her the vitamins with her evening food.

Maybe we’ll see more improvement as the meds do their thing.

  1. I really feel for you. We have a skitso cat who found us 1 1/2 years ago. So far he has cost us$1500 in vet bills. We took in a small calico about 6 weeks ago and fell in love with her. Three weeks later she got sick and we rushed her to the emergency vet. They don’t know how it happened but bile was backing up and she died that night…..that was $760. I cried for two days and still get teary eyed just thinking about it. Meanwhile skitso (Iggy) has taken over all her toys, potty pan and anything connected with her. Iggy seems to be doing better but still licks the fur off his front legs. I understand this is something that will be ongoing. All I can do is love him and hope he quits with the licking.I don’t know if I’m better with or without a pet. Smooches to Apachekat. Lynn

Don’t assume people have a plan; they may be waiting for you to tell them the plan!

  2. She’s sleeping on your sweater because it smells like Mommy and that’s comforting….Hope she gets better!
