WooHoo!!!

Let me tell you a story about a woman named Hazel…(my dear Mother-in-Law).   Over a year ago, she was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer.   A lot of prayers and 6 chemo treatments later, the cancer was gone and she was in remission.   If you’ve been reading my blog, then you know that a few weeks back, she was told the cancer had returned in her neck area and in her lungs.

2 weeks ago, she had a lymph node removed and biopsied.   Everything was okay.  NO CANCER.   The surgeon decided not to biopsy her lungs due to the possibility of collapsing the lung.   Bear in mind, she’s no spring chicken, but she’s been walking with a group of ladies pretty much daily, watching her diet and taking better care of herself.   She’s in better physical condition now than she has been for the last 2 years.

Yesterday, she was scheduled for another biopsy…this time on the lung.  Hazel’s oncologist needed to know what cancer she needed to be treating.  They were prepared to keep her in the hospital for 2-3 weeks should the lung collapse or there be problems.   Ernie met his Mom and his brother at the hospital early yesterday for a short visit and a prayer session.  Ernie called me about 10AM to say they had taken Hazel to surgery.

The surgeon ordered a CT scan to determine exactly where and what he was going to biopsy.  After the scans were read, it was determined 3 of the masses were completely GONE and the 4th one had decreased significantly in size.  No biopsy!

Think there weren’t some joyful tears and praise prayers ???   Ernie said the Dr was shaking his head when he told them about the masses.  Guess my thoughts are WHY should we be amazed?   We asked the Lord to take the cancer from Hazel.   HE answered.  Pretty straightforward.   God listens and answers prayers!  HIS powers are awesome.

These are the type of stories you hear from other people, but it’s been made very real for our family.   HE continues to work in our lives.   Jesus loves us…no matter who we are or what we’ve done.  HE loves us.   I believe in HIS power and HIS promises!!!!
