The Bayou St. River runs through it….

The “it” being the street, our side yard and the onion field!  We had an hour of hard rain, but the local gauges only showed about 1.5″.   While we welcomed the rain, the folks in Coleman were really watchful as there were 3 reported rotational clouds right over the town.  Fortunately, none of them came down and touched ground.

The view from our deck last Wednesday…

The street is running side to side in front of the carport and house

Still running in front of the house

Past Ernie’s driveway to the sideyard and the garden

Then it runs across our side yard, down into the onion field…you may have to click on the photo to enlarge it, but all that shiny silver/brown is run off rain water.  It’s heading from there to the Bayou.

The shiny is water standing…The standing water was gone within half hour of the rain stopping.  The ferns and sedum loved the rain!

Today is overcast again and we would welcome an oncore rain!

  1. Thank God some rain for YOU! Some folks have had 100 times their share, from Manitoba and Quebec all the way to the MS Delta they are crying for less water, but you have needed a good dose. Now just tell the “rotators” to stay away!!!

    Love you!

    • I know. We have all those folks in prayer. Too much is as bad as not enough.

  2. Glad to hear you are getting the rain you needed. We have had a lot of it this year and right now it is cold – a nasty combination this time of year. I really can’t complain because we aren’t near the flooding so we really are lucky.

  3. Although it’s a bit muddy, with all the fires there usually are in your area I bet it’s a much welcome sight.
