A time of sadness…and rejoicing

My co-worker’s Mom lost her brief struggle with cancer last night.   My sympathy and condolences go out to Jeraldine’s family.  Jerry was only 61 and leaves behind 3 grown children and their families.  Her smiling face will surely be missed.  She was quick to share a joke, offer encouragement as needed.  Jerry was a special woman.

While it’s hard on the loved ones left behind, I’m rejoicing this morning for Jeraldine.   Jeraldine is out of pain, no longer suffering in her human body, and the best of all…she’s met Jesus face to face!!!!   What a joy, what a blessing!

My prayers are for peace, comfort and strength for Debra and the family as they deal with the final arrangements, pack up Jerry’s house, and tend to the necessary things that follow a death.   I wish the comfort of having family and friends around, and the memories and stories to be told over the next few weeks.

  1. We know that when our loved one is suffering, brief is better. Hard on us, but it is best in the long run. Our prayers for peace and strength. You’ll never stop missing your mother.
