What a fun time! We left here about 9:30 Friday morning, drove the half hour to Lake Brownwood. Checked into the 4H camp facilities, got the room assignments, set up our sewing stations…and headed into Brownwood for lunch and a little shopping.
The accommodations were lovely…2 double beds, a nice bathroom and built-in shelving to store quilty stuff! The quilts didn’t come with the room, Wanda and I brought our own!
The sewing area was huge with enough tables to have seated around 50…and we were 33 total, so plenty of room for everyone to spread out…and if you know anything about quilters, you know spreading out is something we do quite well! This was about half the room.
Wanda and I were earlybirds, so we picked out tables closest to the windowed area for additional light. What we didn’t realize, that also put us next to the breakfast/break area and all the yummy snacks that were brought :) can we say goodie overload?
Sandy has her back to us…just stitching right along. She worked on mostly hand applique and does outstanding work.
There were quilters from Brady, Ballenger, Ft. Worth, Abilene, Winters, Brownwood and points in between. Was a great group.
Here’s Wanda hard at work. Think she was cutting stabilizer stuff for her machine applique. She’s making snowglobes for Denise’s swap on TQP. She also made this cute little quilt from a “Square in a Square” class based on Jodi Barrows technique.
all in all, a good time was had by all. I put a quilt top together and a little wall hanging. Pictures coming later! Need to get my borders on them first. I also completed a set of snowglobes and have another almost finished.
